A fence shopping estimate

Count the panels.
Keep the runs separate.

Turn each straight run into full panel bays and a simple post count. See the extra span from rounding, add spare panels and compare your quoted costs.

Shopping arithmetic only. Each run has its own start and end post. Shared corners, existing posts, gates, actual post widths, gaps, slopes and installation requirements are not modelled.

01 / MEASURE

Your separate straight runs

The starting length and bay width are editable illustrations. They do not recommend a fence size or post spacing.

Use metres. Connected runs can share posts in a real layout; this model treats every run independently.

Bay width and spare panels

Use the repeated bay span from your own product/layout. What does this mean?

Whole panels for your shopping list. No extra posts are added for spares.

03 / OPTIONAL QUOTED COSTS

Panels, posts and delivery

Enter final prices in A$. Missing unit prices are excluded from the subtotal.

See each run separately

Round each run on its own; spare panels are added only to the shopping total.

01

Separate runs need separate rounding

Two short runs can need more panels than one run of their combined length. Count each isolated line first, then add the totals.

02

Posts follow the assumed bays

One independent run has a boundary at each end, plus boundaries between panels: its panel count plus one. Shared corners need a separate check.

03

Shopping width is a model

Your effective bay width drives the calculation. Real end-post widths, gaps, fitting details and panel cuts can change the finished span.
